AAI, ASSOMET & AMAFOND of Italy signs MoU for investing in a JV project in Aluminium Park in Odisha
The MoU is scheduled to be signed during the next visit of the Italian Industry delegation in January 2018.
While no other details of the project were announced, a statement issued by Nalco said the Consul General of Italy, Damiano Francovigh along with other officials met Tapan Kumar Chand, chairman of NALCO, who also heads AAI, at Bhubaneswar on Tuesday to discuss industrial cooperation and collaboration between the aluminium industries of the two countries.
Commenting on the prospects of the aluminium industry in the state, Chand said: “With large bauxite reserves and presence of major aluminium players like NALCO, Hindalco and Vedanta, Odisha is considered to be the aluminium capital of India. Global firms should come forward for investing in joint ventures with up-stream and down-stream units.”
