Voltas signs deal with Netherland firm

MUMBAI: Air conditioning and engineering services company, Voltas Ltd has signed an agreement with Netherlands-based Besseling Group to deliver turnkey solutions for storage of horticulture produce.
Voltas, a Tata group company, would be Besseling-Group's sole representative in India and under the strategic partnership the two would deliver solutions for storing horticulture produce in Controlled Atmosphere (CA) /Ultra-Low-Oxygen (ULO).
"The combination Besseling-Voltas offer is the best post harvest solution for long-term storage of fruits and vegetables," the company's AGM - New Business (AC&R) Ravin Sanghavi said.
Voltas said in a filing on the Bombay Stock Exchange that the alliance with Besseling, a CA/ULO storage technology specialist, offered tremendous scope for tapping the storage solutions market in India, which was as large as Rs 5,000 crore.
