Virgo Engineers Group to set up new plant in Chennai
The Pune based Rs. 700 crore valve manufacturer, Virgo Engineers Group, is setting up a new plant in an SEZ between Chennai and Puducherry.
Virgo manufactures a range of flow control valves and allied products predominantly for the oil and gas sector. A statement released here quoted Jagdish Desai, CEO, Virgo Engineers Group, saying, "Virgo Chennai is strategic to our growth plans. The large plant gives us an opportunity to ramp up our production capabilities and cater to increased export demand from our existing customers as well as from new markets."
The valve manufacturer has plants in India, in Pune and Coimbatore, Italy, Germany and USA. It is in the process of setting up a foundry at Coimbatore which will be completed by the end of this fiscal to manufacture and supply valve castings for inhouse use.
