VA Tech Wabag records highest order intake in FY16
Water treatment player VA Tech Wabag has bagged Rs 5,000 crore worth of orders in the current financial year ending March 31.
Some of the major awards the company secured include the EXIM Bank funded Polgahawela Water Treatment plant order valued at $108 million with Water Board of Sri Lanka.
In September 2015, the company secured Rs 1,500 crore Effluent Treatment plant from PETRONAS, Malaysia, the city based company said in a statement.
Besides, it has bagged sewage treatment plant from Al Madina Al Shamaliya, Bahrain, valued at Rs 580 crore.
It also won the Rs 594 crore worth major order from Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board for construction, operation and maintenance of 45 MLD (million litres per day) water reclamation plant in Chennai.
"I am happy that in a tough macro business environment, WABAG has won some quality orders and has recorded the highest ever order intake for the group", VA TECH Wabag, MD and Group CEO, Rajiv Mittal said.
"This was achieved through our diversified geographical presence with focus on emerging markets," he said.
