Kolkata: Engineering major Texmaco Rail & Engineering Limited on Tuesday said it received a Letter of Intent (LOI) from JSW Group for manufacturing and supplying 20 rakes of freight wagons valued at approximately Rs 421.38 crore, inclusive of GST.

The order comprises BLCS wagons, BLSS wagons, BFNV wagons, and BVCM brake vans, designed to support high-capacity container transport and efficient rail logistics operations, a statement said.

He added that as industries increasingly adopt rail-based logistics for efficiency and sustainability, the company remains committed to delivering high-quality rolling stock solutions to enhance freight capacity and operational reliability.

The order reflects the growing participation of private players in rail logistics, driven by Indian Railways' policy initiatives to improve freight movement efficiency and reduce logistics costs.
