NEW DELHI: Swiss security systems provider KABA is all set to enter India. The $1-billion company has signed an agreement with Indian doorware solution provider Dorset to form a joint venture company pegged at Rs 100 crore.
The company will manufacture and distribute wide range of mechatronic and electronic locks and total access control systems under the brand name Dorset KABA Security Systems.
Dorset managing director Rajesh Bansal says, “It will be a 49:51 JV and Dorset will have a majority stake in the enterprise. The JV will provide advanced technological array of locking systems to cater to the need of all segments. Our main focus would be on institutions as well as on high-end private clients.”
Dorset KABA Security Systems has already invested Rs 20 crore in setting up a manufacturing facility in Uttaranchal which will produce 20 lakh pieces of mechatronic and electronic locks in the first year. Initially, products upgraded with KABA technology would be introduced in the market and after six months KABA will introduce its own products.
