Swedish equipment-maker Sandvik Group relaunches Rammer brand products
Buoyed by growth in the construction industry, Swedish equipment-maker Sandvik Group today relaunched its Rammer branded products here.
"The construction industry here has set on higher growth trajectory. The re-introduction of our Rammer brand, which is synonymous with hydraulic hammers and attachments, is a part of our multi-brand strategy," the group's domestic arm Sandvik Construction vice-president Raghavan Ramaswamy told reporters here.
The Sandvik Group-owned Rammer brand was withdrawn in 2007, when the company's entire Breakers Lahti product line came under the Sandvik Mining & Construction umbrella, he said.
"But after the construction and mining business were separated in January, we decided to re-introduce the brand under the company Sandvik Construction," Ramaswamy said.
The Rammer-branded hydraulic hammers would be sourced from Finland, Sandvik Construction Global Business head of the Breakers business Ola Ulmala said.
When asked whether the company is planning to set up a manufacturing facility here for Rammer, Ramaswamy said, "The relaunch of these products presents us with tremendous opportunities. Going forward, if the demand goes up, we may think of setting up a facility here."
