Suranjan Gupta takes over as EEPC executive director

The EEPC India, as an apex body of engineering exporters, organises several flagship programmes in India and abroad and works for brand building for the Indian businesses.

KOLKATA: Suranjan Gupta has taken over as the executive director in the EEPC India, the apex organisation of engineering exporters who account for one-fourth of the country's total merchandise exports.

Post-graduate in economics, Gupta has been with the EEPC India since 2006 and has a wide experience in international economics and trade, having worked in several organisations including the American Consulate, European Commission and the Indian Chamber of Commerce.

"I am looking forward to contribute to EEPC India and work for taking our engineering exports to new high with a focus on value addition. Would engage constructively with the Commerce Ministry and other government departments along with the EEPC India leadership for seeking a dynamic policy support for the exporters," said Gupta. The Indian engineering exports have crossed record $76 billion for the fiscal 2017-18.

Gupta replaces Bhaskar Sarkar, who has super-annuated from EEPC India.
