Sterlite Technologies bags orders worth Rs 600 cr in November

Optic-fiber cable maker Sterlite Technologies on Tuesday said that it has bagged Rs 600-crore orders from clients in India and Africa in November.

MUMBAI: Optic-fiber cable maker Sterlite Technologies on Tuesday said that it has bagged Rs 600-crore orders from clients in India and Africa in November.

The company has received contracts worth Rs 600 crore for its telecom and power products from clients in India and Africa, Sterlite Technologies said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

"We are seeing renewed activity from across the world, with telecom and power incumbents starting to build new networks," Sterlite Technologies Director Pravin Agarwal said.

The total order book of the company stands at around Rs 2,050 crore as on November 2009.

Over 30 per cent of the total contract value would be executed within 2010 and the balance within first half of 2011, the filing said.

Shares of Sterlite Technologies were today trading at Rs 326.75 on BSE, up 5.56 per cent from its previous close.
