Siemens launches 10 more value-based products
Electrical equipment maker Siemens launched 10 value-based products under its 'Smart' portfolio totalling the number of such products to 20 since first launched last fiscal.
The newly-launched products are targeted at a range of verticals like aviation, power distribution, building, infrastructure, healthcare, material handling, manufacturing and industrial applications, a company release said.
"These products are high in performance and cost-competitive, and have a very high utility value and are available at price points that a vast majority of customers can afford. Our plan is to completely localise the value chain," Siemens managing director Armin Bruck said.
Under the Smart portfolio, which stands for simple, maintenance-friendly, affordable, reliable and timely-to- market services, Siemens plans to launch another 10 products in next year.
The order intake for the Smart products doubled in 2011 as a percentage share of total new orders from 5 percent in 2010 to over 10 percent of total order intake, he said adding the company has set a sales target of Euro 1 billion by 2020.
