Satyam strengthens its GSC base in Malaysia
Software Developer Satyam Computer Services said the firm's Global Solutions Center in Malaysia is fully operational and expects to create more than 500 jobs.
"We consider this facility to be a significant effort of Satyam's commitment to multi-dimensional investments in Malaysia, an excellent alternative to India for solutions development," Satyam Founder and Chairman B Ramalinga Raju said.
The company also plans to employ 2,000 associates at the 500-seat GSC within the next four years. It is the first phase of the rollout of Satyam's Global Delivery Campus in Malaysia, the firm said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The GSC is already staffed with 300 (mostly Malaysian) IT engineers who support the firm's ASEAN, Middle Eastern, and American customers. Further, Satyam began its first mass recruitment programme for graduates outside India here in 2004.
Shares of Satyam closed at Rs 442.25, down 1.67 per cent on the BSE.
