Samson Controls Pvt Ltd starts manufacturing plant in Ranjangaon

PUNE: Samson Controls Pvt Ltd, a company that manufactures engineered control-valves, has started a manufacturing plant in Ranjangaon near Pune. The 100% subsidiary of the Germany-based Samson AG, the company's made-to-order valves and regulators are used in chemical, petro-chemical, oil and gas, food and beverages and applications where flow of liquids and gases needs to be controlled.

The company has been working in India through a joint venture, with a manufacturing unit in Thane, near Mumbai. It moved to Ranjangaon after it acquired the shares held by its JV partner and needed a larger space. Now Samson Controls has revamped its management team in India along with a seperate team of technicians.

Atul Raje, managing director, Samson Controls Pvt Ltd said, "We have invested around $50 million in the facility. Now that it is ready, we will focus on growing the Indian and Asian market." He added that oil & gas, petro-chemical and power sectors were among the priority sectors for the company in India.

The Ranjangaon manufacturing plant is the company’s third one, the others being one each in Germany and China.
