Punj Lloyd bags Rs 590 cr contract from BORL

Engineering company Punj Lloyd has secured a Rs 590 crore contract from Bharat Oman Refineries Ltd for building a sulphur block at Bina refinery in Madhya Pradesh.

MUMBAI: Engineering company Punj Lloyd has secured a Rs 590 crore contract from Bharat Oman Refineries Ltd for building a sulphur block at Bina refinery in Madhya Pradesh.

The project at the 6 million tons per annum Bina refinery is scheduled to be completed within 25 months, Punj Lloyd Ltd said in communique to Bombay Stock Exchange.

"The lump-sum turnkey contract entails engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning assistance services," it said.

As per the contract, Punj Llyod would contstruct four units -- a sulphur recovery, an amine recovery, a tail gas treatment and two sour water stripping units. Punj Lloyd said this would be the largest process unit in a grassroot refinery for the company.

With this contract, the order backlog for the group stands at Rs 16,480 crore, it said.

The shares of the company today closed at Rs 277.70, up 0.93 per cent, on the BSE.
