Patel Eng consortium bags Rs 3,859 cr order from AP Govt
Construction firm Patel Engineering today said the company, in consortium with two other firms, has bagged an order worth Rs 3,859 crore for water lift irrigation works from Government of Andhra Pradesh.
The company received Pranahita- Chevella lift irrigation project in consortium with BHEL and Navyuga Construction, Patel Engineering said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
"As scheduled we will be commissioning the Beehma lift irrigation project stage I by end of February, 2009 and Kalwakurthy lift irrigation stage I by end of January, 2010" Patel Engineering Managing Director Rupen Patel said.
The project involves investigation, designing, construction and maintenance of the pipe line. The project is expected to get commissioned within the next four years, the filing added.
Patel further added that as a part of our continuing strategy we will be bidding for larger projects to enhance our portfolio. Our focus will continue to remain in high margin area like hydro power and irrigation, both in India and worldwide, it added.
