Megha Engineering gets outstanding concrete structure award for Kaleshwaram

HYDERABAD: Megha Engineering and Infrastructures (Meil) on Saturday received the award for best outstanding concrete structure of 2019 for Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project (KILP).

The award by the premier organisation Indian Concrete Institute (ICI) was received by the Meil director B Srinivas Reddy at a program in Hyderabad on Saturday.

The ICI President Vijay Gupta gave away the awards in various categories.


“We feel honoured with this important award. This is the recognition for the engineering marvel KLIP,” said Meil director Srinivas Reddy. “We used 45,00,000 cubic meters concrete in three pump houses of link-1.”

Over 15,000 workers and engineers had worked in three shifts for the KLIP. Reddy said the project was not possible without the Telangana government’s commitment and continuous monitoring.

The Indian Concrete Institute (ICI) has also given the best concrete structure award to the Amazon building and Khajaguda to Nanakramguda concrete road in Hyderabad. The ICI had constituted awards to encourage the good concrete structure.
