MDL Energy kicks off work on barge

MDL Energy starts construction of barge to lease it to contractor in Middle East.

NEW DELHI: MDL Energy M Ltd on Thursday said it has started construction of a Derrick Lay Barge (DLB), used to lay pipes in deep sea water, with an aim to lease it to an offshore contractor in the Middle East.

The Barge - AP Prakash would be commissioned by September next year, MDL Energy said in a statement here.

"MDL is contemplating to sign a long term agreement with a large Middle East offshore contractor for leasing this barge. The barge would be used for their Middle East and other International projects," MDL Chairman Mohinder S Sahni said.
