L&T signs JV with US firm for pipelines
Engineering and construction firm, Larsen & Toubro Ltd, said on Friday it had signed a joint venture for pipelines with US-based Gulf Interstate Engineering Co.

MUMBAI: Engineering and construction firm Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and US-based Gulf Interstate Engineering Company will form a joint venture company to provide project management services to hydrocarbon pipeline industry.
L&T has entered into a joint venture with Gulf Interstate in this regard. The new venture - L&T-Gulf Pipeline Engineering Pvt Ltd would be located at Faridabad, Larsen & Toubro said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The JV company would augment L&T's offering in pipelines, support Gulf Interstate and provide end-to-end engineering and project management services to the hydrocarbon pipeline industry in India and overseas.
L&T, which provides engineering, construction and commissioning services for pipeline projects in India and overseas, has operating centres across the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Malaysia.
Established in 1953, Gulf Interstate is an international, pipeline design company. The firm is currently active in the US, Mexico, South America, Russia and the Middle-East.
Shares of L&T were trading at Rs 4,419, down 0.15 per cent, at the BSE in the afternoon trade.
