L&T gets Rs 1,610 crore order from Tata Steel, Indiabulls Power

The orders have been bagged by Larsen & Toubro’s Metallurgical and Material Handling Independent Company.

MUMBAI- Larsen & Toubro has won orders worth Rs 1,610 crore from customers including Tata Steel and Indiabulls Power since April, the engineering conglomerate said in a statement Friday.

The orders have been bagged by Larsen & Toubro’s Metallurgical and Material Handling Independent Company, which is a part of the company’s construction division.

A major portion of these orders are from Tata Steel’s Kalinga Nagar Project in Orissa, while the order from Indiabulls Power is worth Rs 240 crore.

The order from Indiabulls Power entails civil and structural works for coal handling plants and ash handling plant for Amravati and Nashik Thermal Power Projects in Maharashtra. The project is scheduled to be completed in 23 months.

At 1:10 PM, shares of Larsen & Toubro were trading at Rs 1,707.20 rupees on the Bombay Stock Exchange, up 2.3% from Thursday, reacting to the order win.
