L&T Construction wins Rs 2,903-crore job contract from MHADA

The scope of work comprises design and construction of 20 residential towers for rehabilitation, four high-rise towers for sale and one commercial development within a plot of 16 acres.

MUMBAI: Larsen & Toubro has won its largest residential construction project, worth Rs 2,903 crore from Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) for a re-development project, the engineering major said in a statement Tuesday.

The order entails designing and building the residential project at the location where a century-old BDD Chawls stands. The redevelopment project will include, twenty residential towers for rehabilitation, four high-rise towers for sale and one commercial development (3B+G+21F) within a plot area of 16 acres.

“The BDD Chawls are one of Mumbai’s most enduring features and by winning the mandate to rehabilitate them, we have another huge opportunity to build India’s maximum city… we are confident of delivering a project that meets the requirements of our client in terms of quality, safety and timely delivery,” said S.N. Subrahmanyan, deputy managing director and president, Larsen & Toubro.
