L&T bags Rs 1,637 cr orders

Larsen & Toubro Ltd has bagged three orders at Rs 937 crore during September and October 2008 in Delhi and Andhra Pradesh.

MUMBAI: Larsen & Toubro Ltd has bagged three orders at Rs 937 crore during September and October 2008 in Delhi and Andhra Pradesh.

An EPC water supply project valued at Rs 582 crore was received from Hyderabad Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board under prestigious Godavari Drinking Water Supply Project. The project involves construction of trunk mains of MS pipe for 58 km to bring 375 million liters per day treated water to Hyderabad city. The contract is for 24 months.

Two EPC projects from Delhi Jal Board valued at Rs 355 crore were secured by the company. The project envisages design, providing, laying, jointing, testing and commissioning of MS twin-pipeline from Bawana to Dwarka and desing and construction of 20 million gallons per day water treatment plant at Okhla. This WTP will have calrifloculator, flash mixer, filters, presedimentaion tanks as major units along with the intake system. Both projects are to be completed in 21 months.

The company has also received an order valued at Rs 700 crore from HPCL-Mittal Energy Ltd, a joint venture of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd and Mittal Energy Investments. The project under involves setting up two 44,000 TPA capacity hydrogen generation units for HPCL-Mittal Energy Ltd grassroots refinery in Bhatinda, Punjab. The plant will be designed for operation with straight run naphtha and DHDT naphtha as feed back. The 9 million tonne per year refinery will generate products that meet Euro IV specifications.

The company shares were down 3.74 per cent to Rs 761.90 on BSE.
