L&T bags contracts worth Rs 853 cr

L&T said it has bagged contracts worth Rs 853 cr to build substations and water projects in India and abroad.

MUMBAI: Larsen & Toubro, India’s largest engineering company, on Friday said it has bagged contracts worth Rs 853 crore to build substations and water projects in India and abroad.

L&T got an order worth Rs 366 crore from the Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority for building two substations at Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi.

The company has also been awarded a contract for turnkey construction of extra high voltage substations valued at Rs 200 crore for the state-run Power Grid Corporation of India.

One of these major substations will be located at Gurgaon and the other will be located at Bhinmal and Kankroli in Rajasthan and Zerda in Gujarat.

L&T’s ECC water and utilities group has bagged three orders valued at Rs 287 crore. The contracts are for building pipelines, and the work is scheduled to be completed in 18 months.
