KEC International bags orders worth Rs 391 crore

KEC International has won orders worth Rs 391 crore for transmission and telecom infrastructure projects, the Mumbai-headquartered company said.

MUMBAI: KEC International, the RPG Enterprises' engineering company, has won orders worth Rs 391 crore for transmission and telecom infrastructure projects, the Mumbai-headquartered company said Wednesday.

The orders include a Rs 361-crore order from Tami Nadu Transmission Corporation for constructing a 400 kV double circuit transmission line of 114 km length. The project would be completed in 18 months.

The other order, worth Rs 30 crore, entails supply and establishment of optical power ground wire communication systems on turnkey basis from Power Grid Corporation of India in north-east region of India. The total line length of the network is over 1,100 km and the project would be completed in 15 months.

The company said last month that its order book was worth Rs 8,572 crore as on end-March, up 9.9% a year ago.

At 14:30IST, shares of KEC International were trading at Rs 51.60 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, up over 1%. BSE's benchmark Sensex was up almost 3%.
