JCB India to make India export hub for Asia

Leading construction equipment manufacturer, JCB India Limited, would make India an export hub to service countries lying between the Middle East and South East Asia, a company official said on Wednesday.

KOLKATA: Leading construction equipment manufacturer, JCB India Limited, would make India an export hub to service countries lying between the Middle East and South East Asia, a company official said on Wednesday.
Managing Director of JCB India Limited Vipin Sondi told reporters that the company's Pune plant, which manufactured heavy line earth moving equipment, would primarily cater to these countries, for which investments were being made there.
JCB India, a 100 per cent subsidiary of JC Bamford Excavators of UK, had already invested Rs 230 crore in India, while additional investments amounting to Rs 300 crore were underway at two plants in Haryana and Pune.
Sondi claimed that the company enjoyed a market share of 55 per cent in India, adding that JCB India was expecting to grow at the rate of 25 per cent to 30 per cent.
In the financial year 2004-05, the company clocked a turnover of Rs 1500 crore.
He said that the company would launch new ranges like tele handlers and compaction equipment in the Indian market soon.
