Jain Irrigation signs MoU with University of Nebraska

Jain Irrigation Systems has signed a MoU with the University of Nebraska, US, to identify common research areas.

MUMBAI: Jain Irrigation Systems has said that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Nebraska, US, to identify common research areas that will generate applicable technologies for ensuring water conservation and sustainable food production.

The MOU was signed between Jain Irrigation System Managing Director Ajit Jain and the President of University of Nebraska James Milliken, the company said in a release issued here.

Many of the envisaged applications of the joint effort would assist farmers in India to become efficient food producer with judicious use of water and energy resources.

The focus will be to research in water science and technology, policy and education to develop agriculture in states and the world as a whole, especially the small farmers of India and Africa.

University of Nebraska has also agreed for exchange of faculty and students between the two organisations.
