ITT to supply rail dampers, shock absorbers to railways

Engineering and manufacturing company, ITT Corporation, on Friday said its energy absorption business has received a $ 1,000,000 order for KONI-branded dampers and shock absorbers from Indian Railways.

MUMBAI: Engineering and manufacturing company, ITT Corporation, on Friday said its energy absorption business has received a $ 1,000,000 order for KONI-branded dampers and shock absorbers from Indian Railways.

The order calls for more than 3,000 dampers or shock absorbers for Diesel Locomotive Works Varanasi (DLW), Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) and Rail Coach Factory (RCF) Northern Railway and Bharat Earth Movers (BEML), a press release issued here said.

"The contract to provide four major Indian rail companies with state-of-the-art dampers reinforces ITT's position as a leading supplier to one of the world's fastest growing transportation systems," ITT Energy Absorption Manager (Division Manager), Pieter Zuiddam, said.

ITT runs a technology and engineering centre in Vadodara. It plays an important role in vital markets including water and fluids management, global defense and security, and motion and flow control. It has 40,000 people serving customers in more than 50 countries.
