Gammon India wins Rs 1,708 crore road project from NHAI in Jammu & Kashmir

Gammon said it has bagged a Rs 1,708 crore project from the Centre for widening of an important stretch of National Highways 1A in Jammu & Kashmir.

NEW DELHI: Construction and engineering major Gammon India today said it has bagged a Rs 1,708 crore project from the Centre for widening of an important stretch of National Highways 1A in Jammu & Kashmir under government's flagship road building programme NHDP.

The company has secured a Rs 1,709.99 crore project from National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for widening of Udhampur to Ramban section of NH 1A in Jammu & Kashmir, Gammon India said in a filing to the BSE.

The contract has been awarded under phase II of the National Highways Development Project (NHDP).

The scope of work involves "four-laning of Udhampur to Ramban section of NH 1 A from Km 67 to 130 to Km 151," the company said.

Gammon India, one of the largest contractor and developer of infrastructure projects in India, operates in four major areas - engineering, procurement and construction, construction business, infrastructure development business and and international business.

Shares of the company closed at Rs 11.31 apiece on the BSE today, up 0.80 per cent from the previous close.
