Essar Projects says orderbook worth Rs 8,000 crore; government spend to drive growth

The company said it has commissioned 10 projects worth Rs 2,862 crore in 2016-17 and has reported revenue of about Rs 2,000 crore in the fiscal year.

MUMBAI: Engineering and construction company Essar Projects India has an orderbook worth Rs 8,000 crore and the company expects big opportunities coming out of the government’s thrust on infrastructure, the Essar group company said in a statement Wednesday.

The company said it has commissioned 10 projects worth Rs 2,862 crore in 2016-17 and has reported revenue of about Rs 2,000 crore in the fiscal year.

“With an order book of almost Rs 8,000 crore, we are confident of even better performance in FY18,” said AV Amarnath, chief operating officer.

“The Indian market is poised for bigger opportunities given the government’s thrust on core infrastructure. EPIL is well placed to seize those opportunities,” he said.
