Elgi Equipment sets up subsidiary in Gulf
A city-based engineering company, engaged in the manufacture of industrial air compressors,Elgi Equipments Ltd (EEL), announced opening of its subsidiary at Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF) in the UAE.

COIMBATORE: A city-based engineering company, engaged in the manufacture of industrial air compressors,Elgi Equipments Ltd (EEL), on Monday announced opening of its subsidiary at Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF) in the UAE.
The subsidiary 'ELGI GULF FZE' is a full-fledged sales and service organisation through which the company intended to offer prompt and speedy service deliveries, with short lead times to the customers, V T Govindarajan, Director (Global Business) EEL, said in a release here.
The office-cum-warehouse facility would enable the Rs.500 crore company in expanding the product offering and ensure immediate service in the fast growing Middle East market, Govindarajan said.
Elgi Gulf would initially serve the Gulf Corporation Council markets and eventually expand its presence in the Middle East region and North Africa, he said.
EEL enjoyed a significant market share in the Middle East region for electric and portable screw air compressor, the company Managing Director, Dr Jairam Varadaraj said.
Being one of the leading exporters of products to end user in over 60 countries, Middle East contributed to more than 20 pc of the copany's sales,Varadaraj claimed.
