EKC's China subsidiary commences commercial production

Everest Kanto Cylinder (EKC), a manufacturer of high pressure cylinders, on Tuesday said its wholly-owned subsidiary in China, EKC Industries (Tianjin) Co Ltd, has commenced commercial production.


MUMBAI: Everest Kanto Cylinder (EKC), a manufacturer of high pressure cylinders, on Tuesday said its wholly-owned subsidiary in China, EKC Industries (Tianjin) Co Ltd, has commenced commercial production.

It will have an initial capacity of 2,00,000 cylinders and plans to ramp up its capacity to one million cylinders in the next three-four years, a press release issued here today said.

The investment in the first phase of operations is expected to be around USD 50 million, the release said.
China, at present, has about 400 CNG stations and it is expected to reach a level of 2,000 CNG stations by 2010.
