Cummins lines up expansion
Cummins India and its consolidated subsidiaries are in expansion mode, with three greenfield facilities and a new plant at its existing Pune location coming up this fiscal.
It will require an investment of over Rs 250 crore over a period of three to four years, said Cummins India chairman and managing director Anant Talaulicar.
“The new campus, where production will begin in the next 18-24 months, will co-locate all our products - engines, generators, components like turbo-chargers and alternators. This will allow us to bring in cross-business synergies, including people movement, with all Cummins group companies and businesses. “We will continue with our existing manufacturing at Kothrud, our 100-acre campus in Pune, where we will co-locate all our professional services which do not need to be inside the factory,” Mr Talaulicar told reporters on the sidelines of the company’s 46th AGM on Thursday.
