Crompton Greaves ties up with Lemnis Lightings & Fael Luce for lighting solutions
Electrical engineering goods manufacturer Crompton Greaves has entered into two agreements with the Netherland-based Lemnis Lightings and Italy-based Fael Luce to boost its presence in lightning space.
Crompton Greaves through its alliance with Lemnis would foray into the 'LED lights' segment, while its tie-up with Fael Luce would help it tap the outdoor and stadia lighting space.
"Our alliance with Lemnis Lighting in the area of solid- state lighting brings the latest technology from the house of Lemnis, supplemented by the strength of Crompton Greaves in application engineering and integrated solutions," the company's Managing Director Sudhir Trehan told reporters here today.
LED lights are more advanced compared to CFL lights as they consume even lesser energy.
As per the agreement, Crompton Greaves and Lemnis would jointly market LED lighting products in the domestic market.
Initially, the company would import the lighting products. As sales pick up, the company may manufacture these products locally, Trehan said.
He, however, declined to give any further details. Lemnis is a leading player in the LED-technology space and has light applications for sectors like general lighting, street lighting and greenhouse lighting.
Crompton Greaves' other tie-up with Fael Luce is targeting the ongoing large infrastructure projects, particularly in the field of sports and aims to provide lighting solutions for the Commonwealth Games in 2010.
"This cooperation commits to make a difference in the provision of integrated solutions in the field of outdoor and stadia lighting," Trehan said.
