Converteam, a US based power conversion enegineering company, is to increase its headcount at its Engineering Development Centre here to support its projects worldwide.

CHENNAI: Converteam, a US based power conversion engineering company, is to increase its headcount at its Engineering Development Centre here to support its projects worldwide.
The centre already has 260 EDC local engineers, who work together with those of the main business units in Europe and North America on various projects for both external customers and internal Research and Development programmes. Besides, some other projects were being handled independently in India, a company press release said.
The addition in the staff in the years to come was to cope with the growing demand of the market, the release said.
The company also planned to open a state-of-the art technology centre in India soon which would be the hub of its global research and development programme, it said.
It would like to invest in the implementation of a manufacturing unit dedicated to power electronics and drive equipment in the country, the release added.
