BHEL registers Rs 49,301 crore turnover

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has recorded a turnover of Rs 49,301 crore during the 2011-12 fiscal, a top official said.

BHOPAL: Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd ( BHEL) has recorded a turnover of Rs 49,301 crore during the 2011-12 fiscal, a top official said.

Executive Director of Bhopal unit of BHEL S S Gupta told this to reporters here today.

He said that there has been an increase of 19.4 per cent over BHEL's 2010-11 turnover. The earning per share during the last financial year was Rs 28.06 and this also indicated an increase of 21.2 per cent over the earning per share in 2010-11, he said.

Gupta said that the R & D investment during the last financial year was Rs 1,162 crore, which was 18.3 per cent more than the investment in 2010-11.

Gupta also said that he was of the view that the future electricity needs of the country could only be met through nuclear power plants.
