BHEL bags Rs 190 crore order from Oil India

State-run power equipment maker BHEL on Thursday said it has bagged a Rs 190-crore contract from Oil India Ltd to set up a gas-based captive power plant in Assam.

NEW DELHI: State-run power equipment maker BHEL on Thursday said it has bagged a Rs 190-crore contract from Oil India Ltd to set up a gas-based captive power plant in Assam.

"BHEL has won a Rs 190-crore turnkey contract from Oil India for setting up a gas-based captive power plant in Assam," a company statement said.

BHEL's scope of work in the project includes designing, engineering, manufacturing, supplying, erection and commissioning of the complete captive power plant.

The equipment for the project will be supplied by BHEL's plants at Hyderabad, Bhopal, Jhansi and Bangalore.

BHEL has earlier supplied several onshore oil rigs as well as equipment used in oil exploration.
