BHEL bags Rs 1,893 cr order to set up 700 MW plant
Power equipment maker Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd has secured a Rs 1,893 crore contract for setting up a 700 MW power plant in Gujarat.
The engineering, procurement and construction order for setting up the 2x350 MW gas turbine-based combined cycle power plant near Pipavav in Amreli district of Gujarat has been placed by GSPC Pipavav Power Company (GPPC), BHEL said in a statement.
GPPC is a subsidiary of Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC).
The first unit would be commissioned by BHEL in 30 months, the second one is slated for completion in 33 months, it added.
The entire power generated by the project would be sold to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd.
BHEL's scope of work in the project includes supply of gas turbine generator sets, steam turbine generator sets and one heat recovery steam generators with associated auxiliaries.
The company has recently won a similar contract from Gujarat State Energy Generation Ltd (GSEG) for setting up a 350 MW gas turbine-based combined cycle power plant at Hazira in Gujarat.
