BHEL bags Rs 1,395 crore NDMC contract for raw material handling system

NEW DELHI: Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd ( BHEL) on Monday said it bagged Rs 1,395 crore contract from National Mineral Development Corp for setting up a raw material handling system for integrated steel plant at Nagarnar in Chhattisgarh

The turnkey contract includes execution of a system that can receive raw material, perform wagon tippling, crushing, store and feed the three million tonnes per annum steel plant, BHEL said in a statement.

This is the largest-ever order for a material handling package, it said.

The contract would be executed by BHEL’s industrial systems group that handles orders for bulk material handling like coal and ash handling systems for thermal power plants, raw material handling and balance of plant equipment for hydro projects.
