Alstom Transport has inaugurated a new global IT centre at its Bengaluru site with the new hub being another step towards the company's strategy to leverage India as a key centre for core business delivery.

BENGALURU: Alstom Transport has inaugurated a new global IT centre at its Bengaluru site with the new hub being another step towards the company's strategy to leverage India as a key centre for core business delivery.

Operations related to IT systems such as data centre, business applications and networks will be carried out at the centre, the company said in a statement.

The new centre, hosting over 150 employees, will play a vital role as the global centre for IT operations and project delivery for Alstom, it said, adding that the centre would be supported by Alstom's global partners to deliver global IT operations and many key IT programmes.

Alstom Transport in India provides a complete range of systems, equipment and services in the railway sector.

It comprises four businesses: Rolling stock & Components, Systems & Infrastructure, Transport Information Solutions and Train Life Services.

With a full range of highly advanced products and solutions, it is ready to participate in the upcoming rail transportation projects in India, including high speed train projects, the company said.
