Aban Offshore bags $300 million order for deploying rig in Mid East
Global drilling services provider Aban Offshore on Wednesday said it has bagged an order for the deployment of a rig in the Middle East for 300 million dollars.
The company has received a letter of intent for deploying the rig, Aban VIII, in the Middle East for a 18 wells plus four optional wells programme, Aban Offshore informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The deployment would commence after the delivery of the rig, which is expected in the second quarter of 2008, the filing added.
Last year the firm had bagged a USD 28-40 million contract from Thailand-based Chevron Offshore for supplying a jack-up drilling rig and deep driller.
Shares of the firm closed at Rs 3,145.40, down 2.76 per cent on the BSE.
