Kolkata: Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) has drawn up a growth strategy to take Indian engineering goods exports to $100 billion by 2016. As part of its strategy, it aims to increase engineering goods exports from the country by 20% per annum between 2007-08 and 2009-2010. For the remaining six years to 2016, it targets to raise such exports by 14 per cent per annum.

The growth chart has been drawn up by EEPC in response to President APJ Abdul Kalams call to the council to take engineering goods exports to $100 billion by 2016. The President urged EEPC to take on the challenge while presiding over the councils golden jubilee celebrations on January 23, held at Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi.
