WB govt seeks UK help for Kolkata infrastructure projects
The West Bengal government is seeking UK government assistance for infrastructure projects in the metropolis and riverfront beautification.
"We have asked a UK business delegation for technical and financial assistance for several projects we have undertaken. They will carry out a survey to identify the projects they can participate in," Urban Development minister Firhad Hakim said on the sidelines of a UK-India regeneration seminar here.
Earlier, in mid September a delegation of the International Technical Cooperation Division, a local government body of Japan's Yokohama city, had called on the urban development minister for river front beautification.
The state government was also planning to seek financial assistance from the Japan International Cooperation Agency for infrastructure projects.
