Universal Construction Machinery to open 41 stores, eyes Assembly plant in Bangalore

Universal Construction Machinery and Equipment Pvt Ltd plans to open 41 exclusive stores by this fiscal end, and is also looking for setting up an Assembly plant near Bangalore.

Managing Director of Pune-based firm, Ranjeet R More, said today the company currently has five exclusive stores in Patna, Surat, Nagpur, Siliguri and Coimbatore and plans to open 41 more by March-end.

These stores host the entire Universal product portfolio offering sales, after sales service and spares.

"Chennai has already been identified as one location.All the stores will be on franchisee basis. Universal is in talks with its dealers to open these stores", More told reporters here.

"We are looking for a place near Bangalore to have our assembly line for products such as concrete mixers and reversible drum mixers. The products will be brought on CKD (completely knocked down) basis and assembled at Bangalore", he said.

The company also announced the launch of " Infinite Mechanisation Solution", saying this range targetted at small and mid-sized contractors and builders would significantly cut down labour costs, and improve speed and quality.

The range consisting of 15 equipment, including concrete mixer, bar cutting machine, bar bending machine, earth compactor and mini lift, is priced at Rs 9.9 lakh (excluding taxes and duties), More said.
