Reliance Infrastructure repay ECBs worth $360 mn
Reliance Infrastructure today said it has repaid external commercial borrowings worth USD 360 million (about Rs 1,815 crore).
These borrowings were raised by the company in November 2006.
"... the company has repaid the entire outstanding ECBs by making payment on the due date ie November 16, 2011," it said in a regulatory filing.
According to a Reliance Infrastructure spokesperson, the repayment was made largely from internal accruals.
The company has a strong balance sheet and cash reserves of Rs 7,000 crore. Besides, out of 25 infrastructure projects -- both operational and under implementation -- 70 per cent are revenue generating, the spokesperson noted.
At the end of September quarter, the entity's had infrastructure assets to the tune of Rs 40,000 crore and an EPC order book of Rs 30,000 crore.
Shares of the company rose marginally to close at Rs 416.55 on the BSE.
