Punj Lloyd bags Rs 826 cr contract from Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation

The contract is scheduled to be completed by April, 2013, the company said, adding that so far, it has laid more than 10,000 km of onshore and offshore pipelines globally.

KOLKATA: Diversified global engineering, procurement and construction EPC conglomerate Punj Lloyd Group on Monday informed stock exchanges that it has clinched an offshore contract from state-owned Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation.

The company has received a letter of award (LOA) from Gujarat State Petroleum for a submarine pipeline project in an exploration block on the east coast of India. The Rs 826 crore contract is scheduled to be completed by April 2013.

The scope of work includes a 24.5 km long pipeline from process cum living quarter platform to onshore gas terminal, a 15-km long effluent disposal pipeline and 24.5 km optical fibre cabling. It also includes sub surface isolation valve, station isolation valve, insulation joint with hydraulic power unit and umbilical for 20'' multi-phase pipeline.

Laying the under sea bed pipelines would also involve dredging, burial, backfilling and reinstatement, the company said in its mediastatement.
