Patel Engineering gets Rs 234-crore order from Bihar government

Construction firm Patel Engineering today said it has bagged a Rs 233.98-crore order from the Bihar government for upgrading a 86.8-km highway project in the state.

MUMBAI: Construction firm Patel Engineering today said it has bagged a Rs 233.98-crore order from the Bihar government for upgrading a 86.8-km highway project in the state.

"...the company has bagged Rs 233.98 crore order for the upgradation for Sikkadi-Chandi-Sandesh-Sahar-Bihta-Danvara- Nasirgunj Road ( SH-81) in the state of Bihar from the Bihar State Road Development Corporation Ltd," it said in a filing to the BSE.

"The assignment is a part of the Bihar State Highway Project-II, which sanctions the development work for 86.8 km," it added.

The city-based firm, which is in the business since 1949, had recorded Rs 429 crore total income for the quarter ended December 31, 2011.

Patel Engineering's scrip today closed at Rs 120.35 on the BSE, up 3.13 per cent over the previous day's closing.
