L&T bags Rs 3,115 crore order for construction of Ganga bridge in Bihar

L&T said the order is for design and construction of greenfield six lane extra-dosed cable bridge over river Ganga near Kachchi Dargah in Patna on NH-30, near Bidupur in district Vaishali on NH-103.

MUMBAI: Larsen & Toubro, in a joint venture with Daewoo E&C of South Korea, has bagged an order worth Rs 3,115 crore from Bihar State Road Development Corporation for construction of a six-lane cable bridge over river Ganga near Kachchi Dargah in Patna district on NH-30, the engineering major said Wednesday.

L&T’s Heavy Civil Infrastructure Business will execute the project. The engineering, procurement and construction order entails construction of a 22 km road alignment including a 9.76 km long extra-dosed bridge spanning across the river Ganga. The project is scheduled to be completed in four years.

“This is a significant win in the heavy civil infrastructure space and we hope that this is a sign for many such projects involving vital infrastructure that are in the offing to materialize,” said S.N. Subrahmanyan, deputy managing director and president, L&T.
