L&T bags airport construction order worth over Rs 7,000 crore

The company said the scope of work includes design, engineering, procurement and construction of passenger terminal building, a new runway, etc.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has won an order worth over Rs 7,000 crore for design and construction of an airport, the engineering major said Monday.

The company only said that it has bagged a “major” order for a “major” airport, without disclosing more details.
The scope of work includes design, engineering, procurement and construction of passenger terminal building, a new runway, rehabilitation of a runway, taxiways and aprons, a new elevated eastern cross taxiway, landside roads, utility infrastructure, drainage and modifications for the existing terminal.


This is the second “mega order”, or order worth over Rs 7,000 crore, that L&T has bagged in February.

Shares of L&T closed at Rs 1240.25 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, down 0.2% from its previous close.
