Larsen & Toubro gets construction orders worth Rs 1,137 crore in April-May

Larsen & Toubro has bagged orders worth Rs 1,137 in the financial year 2014-15 so far, the engineering major said in a statement.

These orders include new orders worth Rs 754 crore for power transmission and distribution projects from government utilities in Saudi Arabia and Oman. It also bagged an order in India from Power Grid Corporation’s arm Vizag Transmission.

L&T said it got buildings and factories jobs worth Rs 315 crores. “An order has been bagged from one of the world’s leading two-wheeler manufacturers for the design and construction of test tracks and buildings for the company’s upcoming innovation research development centre near Jaipur in Rajasthan. Additional orders have also been received from various ongoing jobs,” L&T said.

The company also won orders in its Water & Renewable Energy Business for a solar power plant in Andhra Pradesh.

At 14:30 IST, shares of L&T were trading at Rs 1,422.45 on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Tuesday, up 2.5% from the previous close.
