IRB Infrastructure emerges preferred bidder for Rs 2,400 crore Karnataka highway project

IRB Infrastructure has emerged as the preferred bidder for NHAI's project for four laning of Goa-Karnataka Border to Kundapur stretch of highway in Karnataka.

MUMBAI: Mumbai-based IRB Infrastructure Developers Thursday said it has emerged as the preferred bidder for National Highways Authority of India's project for four laning of Goa-Karnataka Border to Kundapur stretch of highway in Karnataka.

The project would be executed at a total cost of Rs 2,400 crore. IRB said it has sought Rs 536.22 crore as the vibility gap fund, or support from government. The projects entails a construction period of 910 days and a concession period of 28 years.

IRB Infra's order book was worth Rs 10,900 crore now, the company said.

This would be IRB Infra's second project in Karnataka, where it is executing a six laning project in the Tumkur - Chitradurga strech of the highway.

IRB Infra now has a portfolio of 17 road projects, of which 10 have been commissioned while six are under implementation.
