IL&FS Transportation bags Rs 1,665 cr road contract from NHAI

NEW DELHI: Infrastructure company IL&FS Transportation today said it has won a Rs 1,665 crore project from NHAI for widening of highways stretches in Jharkhand and West Bengal under the flagship road building programme NHDP.

"The company has emerged as the lowest bidder for the six-laning of Barwa-Adda-Panagarh section of NH-2...in the states of Jharkhand and West Bengal... It has received a letter of award dated April 5 from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI)," IL&FS said in a statement.

The estimated cost of the project is Rs 1,665 crore, it said, adding that the company had quoted a premium of Rs 42 crore for the project.

The project for six-laning of 123 km stretch in both the states including construction of a bypass will be executed under design, build, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) basis under the National Highways Development Project (NHDP) phase V.

The project is on toll basis with a concession period of 20 years including construction period of 910 days, the company said.
