HUDA to pick up 12.5 per cent equity stake in NCR Transport Corp

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting chaired by HUDA chairman and Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, an official release said.

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Urban Development Authority on Thursday said it has given in-principle approval for picking up a 12.5 per cent stake in National Capital Regional Transport Corp, the special purpose vehicle constituted by the government for its proposed Regional Rapid Transit System.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting chaired by HUDA chairman and Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, an official release said.

India's first high-speed train project, the RRTS, proposes to connect Panipat with Delhi in 45 minutes with trains running at 200 km per hour.

The development projects worth Rs 975 crore have been also approved in today's meeting for the overall development of Urban Estates in Haryana, which includes one flyover at Pinjore.

The release added that three Railway Over Bridges at Faridabad, water supply scheme in Rohtak and Rajiv Gandhi Education City, Sonepat have also been approved.
